Gotta Go Fast!
As a lifelong fan of video games, Sonic the Hedgehog was the first property to really captivate me in my early gaming days. If I wasn't playing the game, you'd often find me trying to draw the many iconic characters, especially the weird and wonderful Badnik robots. My childhood memories are a real mash-up of those first couple of games, various comics and the classic Saturday morning Sonic cartoon, so this is my own illustrated tribute to the many worlds of Sonic. From a design perspective, the aim was to mix bold shapes and a limited colour palette, with a restrained use of subtle texture and gradients.
